Fused Bail

I tried making my own fused bail. The first time through the glass wasn't big enough and got all sharp around the fiber paper. The second time through I added a new piece of clear, and it still didn't fold over the fiber paper right. Good news, it's not sharp anymore. Bad news, the added piece of glass is really visible.

Back to the drawing board.

Hi Susie: I liked your slumped bowl. Can you just slump into a terra cotta pot bottom with the kiln wash? I've made pendants with my own glass bails. I did not try to add it after the first firing but just fused with the fiber paper through the top part of the glass when I first assembled the pieces. The trick is to not go too close to the upper edge so that the glass totally wraps the paper. I also had success with fusing a larger tile then just cutting it with a diamond wet tile saw into smaller pieces.
