Halloween 2006

Happy Halloween! Aaron was a pirate this year. The wig is the best. He wears it and looks like a reggae singer. Jim wears it and looks like one of the Rolling Stones! Jeremy & Jermaine took Aaron out to gather candy. Look how much taller they are!

I was a cat. I brought out my fluffy tail from retirement and got a new pair of ears. The ears were a hit at the Portillos drive thru. I forgot I had them on!

Halloween Jewelry

This is some jewelry I fused for Halloween. I used my glastar grinder to made the orange on the pendant look like a tombstone. The bats are punched from dichro slide paper and also from copper foil. I didn't cap the copper foil and it gives the pieces a nice old, used look. Perfect for Halloween!

Socks

Last winter I made some socks ala Queen Kahuna. They didn't fit and I thought they looked funny! I set them aside and then decided that I would give them to my friend Sherri. If they didn't fit her she could toss 'em.

Well, they not only fit--they look great! She was kind enough to take a picture and share it with me.

They were too big for me because I didn't follow the Queen Kahuna formula precisely. I didn't trust her and thought I needed to fudge some. The next pair I made using the correct formula fit perfectly!

These were knit with a self-striping yarn from Knit Picks.
