Glass Name Plate

It worked! My first attempt at this was a failure! At 1500 degrees, when I was expecting fusion--I got a huge bubble! So I asked for help in the glass fusion and warm glass boards. From the advice I received, I redid everything exactly the same way.

But! I added a second piece of glass under the one with the frit writing/drawing. I love the bubbles that formed. One is a perfect triangle shape that I don't think I could have achieved on my own!

As it was firing, I realized I should have included a wire hanger. Next time!

Fused and Slumped Weaved Bowl

This is a "woven" plate I did. I used strips of glass and fused. Next time I will take care that the pieces are more even--I thought the fusing process would take care of some of the differences in length.

Then I slumped. I wish I had a deeper mold to slump in...I'll have to go shopping!

Fabric Postcards

I made these fabric postcards for a swap on a yahoo group. I made a big piece of fabric and then cut it down into 8 postcards. It was fun and quick and I want to make more. I forget how rewarding these can be!

I hope the recipients enjoy them!

New pendants

Here are some new pendants I fused yesterday. I didn't take a before picture. Mostly they are scraps and just small pieces I put together.

Only one has a major flaw. The green and white piece has a big bubble/spike out the back. I have no idea what caused it.

Today I slumped the lattice work piece. I'll find out tomorrow morning if it turned out!

Fused Bail

I tried making my own fused bail. The first time through the glass wasn't big enough and got all sharp around the fiber paper. The second time through I added a new piece of clear, and it still didn't fold over the fiber paper right. Good news, it's not sharp anymore. Bad news, the added piece of glass is really visible.

Back to the drawing board.
